Norton Shopping
Mall Project

Norton Town will soon enjoy a state-of-the-art shopping mall thanks to CIPF which has successfully completed the construction of phase one of the long-awaited Norton Shopping Mall early this year. Phase two is due to start soon in a move which will change the face of the town, 40 km southwest of Harare and see it enjoying a new and improved business look once completed. Phase one of the Mall is fully occupied with residents and visitors to the Mall, situated approximately 3km from the Harare -Bulawayo Highway, now enjoying a food outlet, spares shops among other services. Mooted and commenced on 2002, the project has shrugged off a variety of challenges such as prevailing hyperinflation to add to the grandeur and beauty of the Town. The challenges in the operating environment led to the Fund deciding to develop the project in phases as a means of managing the project costs with Phase 1 pegged at US$5 million. Once fully completed the shopping mall shall have a total 54 shops which include the following: small to medium shops, – fast food outlets, coffee shops and seating platforms in the mall walkway, restaurant and bar – a two bedroom penthouse on the upper floor for a resident mall caretaker; CIPF mall manager’s office; Anchor tenant’/supermarket (1985m2 double volume) located at the rear ; A cinema which can be turned into a games room depending on viability ; Electricity sub-station and 174 parking bays. It is complemented by a fuel station and a food court.
